Taking on the city one baby at a time

Another good day in the neighborhood. Pegs and NJ take on the city around 10am on the lookout for a European outfit. Mom says she needs to "go all European for my boy, Tom." Pop is coming tomorrow and we are pumped! Mom and I have always, and always will cram into the same dressing room while shopping. Why? Neither of us are too sure...but we always end up in hysterics while all of the other people in the dressing rooms and employees hear us and think we are fools. So anyways, I tried on a pair of black skinny jeans and talked Mom into getting a pair for herself. She decided she would just wait to try them on at home and blindly guess for a size since they are all wack here. I knew this would be a comedy show when we got back to our hotel. These jeans really are what people call "jeggings" which are extremely tight and meant to be worn with a long shirt. The woman should have done some pre-dressing stretches to get ready to try and fit these bad boys on. After wrestling with the jeans for a good 5 mins, Mom gets them on and comes out from the bathroom in a sweat, complaining that she has pulled a muscle. Now if that isn't a cry for help, I'm not sure what is. These Europeans pull them off like it's the most comfortable outfit they own..But we all know they too have to set aside a good 15 extra minutes to "slip on their jeans."
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that we also went "fan shopping" for a good hour today too. Mom has been wanting to get Sydney a fan (those pretty painted ones that open up..the real deal). When I say we went fan shopping, I mean that Mom picked up about 150 fans, checked out the painting on each one, and fanned herself every time she opened one. I guess she wanted to make sure Sydney had the best circulation goin on with her new fan. I looked over in Mom's shopping basket and she had about 12 fans! (Keep in mind she came here to buy Sydney ONE fan) I casually asked who the other ones were for and she informed me that she just wanted to "pick up a few extra for Sydney's friends." You know, in case her friends want to come over and fan themselves. Mom came back to her senses and bought Syd the prettiest and of course, best circulated one she could find.
People dine here. They don't just stop in for lunch...they sit for hours. So Mom and I decided we would "dine" for lunch. We sat for hours, just laughing and having a heart to heart. It was the best part of my day.
We've been cruising this afternoon and now we are getting ready to curl up for our new movie, Bride Wars! We finished Under the Tuscan Sun which had awesome scene shots from Tuscany right where we were. However...the plot of that movie..what??? Can anyone help us out? We are still confused as to what all was going on there. We're hoping this next movie will bring us a little more satisfaction.
Here are some pictures of a normal Saturday in Madrid

Good morning! Fresh carrot juice for breakfast. I drank this because Jacob drank fresh carrot juice everyday before school growing up...hollllaaa Jakey, you like this?

They have fresh squeezed orange juice everywhere

Hey Nat...how's this look for breakfast?

Here are pictures of the protest

The people are fighting for peace and democracy

Elections take place tomorrow so hundreds of people are camping out all weekend

We are those dumb Americans who ask locals if we can take pictures of their cute babies. Mom told me to take this picture "of the baby while you really get one of that good looking daddy." Haha, he was nice. Can't you just picture this little girl saying something like "Hola amiga, cómo estás?"

Mother/Daughter matching shoesies. Min and Syd these are for you!

Another cute babe

Here is a shot of a protesting dog. Mom thinks this is pathetic. She asked me if I really thought the poor dog had an opinion about the government. I guess she can read his mind because she said he's thinking "forget peace and love, just gimme some dang water people"

Cutest European couple of the day

Like mother, like daughter

Mom and I ran to take cover for the flood that was obviously coming according to this sista's pants. For a second I thought, you know..maybe they are capri pants, let's cut her some slack. Until I saw the socks. These are definitely long pants.
Everyone should take cover immediately. Flood's a comin'
